Make a small space appear larger:

• Match grout color to tile color.
• Use larger format tiles.
• Use more basic installation pattern including the standard, straight-line configuration or a simple trellis pattern.
• Consider lighter color tile to keep a more open feel.

Add interest to a larger space:

• Consider unique patterns such as a lacework or checkerboard configuration.
• Use decorative elements such as dots, decos and medallions to create visual focal points.
• Use borders to create separate spaces within one room.
• Darker colors can offer a cozy feel; mixing and matching colors adds interest and dimension.
